Evan Cooper – Lawyer
After completing his secondary schooling in Melbourne at the Ivanhoe Grammar School, Evan relocated to the Gold Coast to commence his tertiary studies at Bond University. After completing his degree he commenced his articles with Allan Dick Solicitors in 2001. In 2010 he entered partnership in the firm DC Law.
In 2013 a fresh approach to the business of law in Queensland was born when he and Matt Maloy created Cooper Maloy Legal.
Evan is the Solicitor | Director responsible for our Criminal and Litigation departments. He appears regularly in all courts across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.
Out of the office Evan enjoys Australian Rules Football, Golf & Travelling. He is also actively involved in various charities and organises an annual charity golf day to assist local charities, which has raised in excess of $50,000.00 in the last three years, and is a regular presenter for the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program. www.qtop.com.au and is a regular commentator on Southern Cross Austereo’s “Talking Back the Night” radio show which is heard nationally.

After a decorated 20+ year career in the law with the New South Wales Police Force and Queensland Police Service Matt was admitted to practice and in 2013 joined forces with Evan to create Cooper Maloy Legal.
Matt is the Solicitor | Director responsible for our Family law and Estate departments.
He also undertakes criminal matters. Matt appears regularly in the Magistrates, District, Supreme, Family and Federal Magistrates Courts.
He also is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his wife.

Jessica completed her undergraduate degree in Law and Journalism at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. After completing her training as a solicitor at DC Law she was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in December 2012 and to the High Court of Australia in February 2013.
Jessica’s experience is varied over the areas of general practices offered by the firm including; Criminal Defence, Family Law and Children’s Court. She has a passion for advocacy and enjoys helping others. Jessica is currently undertaking her Masters of Law.

Peta was a member of the Queensland Police service and spent more than a decade as a prosecutor, appearing in some of the States most high profile prosecutions. After completing her degree she left the QPS to further her legal career and brings her wealth of courtroom experience to Cooper Maloy Legal. Peta undertakes Family Law as well criminal defence work. She is a gifted advocate who is well respected by the profession and judiciary alike. She is a qualified Collaborative Family lawyer and brings that practical approach to the practice of law to help achieve the best results for her clients.

Victoria grew up in Central Queensland and upon leaving school ran her own successful business for almost a decade until her desire to help others saw her embark upon a Legal career. Victoria completed her degree at Griffith University in 2013 and after completing her practical legal training with Cooper Maloy Legal she has remained with the firm as a solicitor. Victoria has a passion for Criminal Defence work and Family Law. She brings her wealth of commercial and business acumen to assist her clients resolve their legal problems.

Carley is Cooper Maloy Legal’s Practice Manager. Having worked with Evan as his personal assistant for more than a decade she is a much valued and integral member of the firm.
Sally is assistant to Matt Maloy. Sally brings a wealth of experience in legal administration having worked for various Gold Coast Law Firms for more than 10 years.
Paul is our litigation support at Cooper Maloy Legal Bundaberg. He is currently studying law and hopes for a career in Criminal law and Family law.
